See this picture of cheap canvas we found in a local big-box store. This type of print is made with Poly canvas. Wood frame that the canvas is stretched over expands and shrinks with changes in environment temperature and humidity. Poly is plastic and it will stretch in warm environments but not shrink if temperature get cooler.
Gallery wrap canvases that are made to last the test of time are made from thick - one hundred percent cotton canvas. Cotton canvas relaxes in summertime humidity and shrinks in the dryness of winter like bluejeans just out of the dryer.
